A Distant Star... |

Around a far and distant star, ...beyond the milky way, A world unknown in orbit spins, ...on this, this very day, Upon far planet's highest peak, ...exists an instrument, A telescope built by a man, ...with dreams by heavens sent. Lone man upon far distant peak, ...gazes out to space, Out across the universe, ..to an unknown distant place. He spies a twinkle in night's sky, ...a planet near small star, A minute speck amid the cosmos, ...so very, very far. He takes a pause, thinks to himself, ...could life exist somewhere, Other than my little world, ...someplace, somehow, out there. Not a chance, the odds too great, ...such thought is just a dream, As he gazes out in space, ...upon earth's distant beam. [This message has been edited by Tim (10-06-2002 09:54 PM).] |

Very thought-provoking. So many stars, galaxies by the billions. Yes, very, very, thought provoking indeed! Enjoyed! |

Just what I'm thinking about when hearing about another 'planet', Quaoar, that takes 288 years to orbit the sun according to scientists...nice piece |

Possiblities exist......yes they do. Personally, I like dreaming on distant stars..... Well done! If I have touched one heart through my words, then I have acheived my dream... |

There has to be more out there than just "us". Good write here Tim. Chris Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away. |
