"Are They Really Who They Say They Are?"

Are they really who they say they are?
Can you tell me or are you close by far?
Do you know who the real person is?
Are they telling the truth or just plain myths?

I don't know why people tell lies.
It makes no sense - in my mind.
Blind, I might be, to see why they do it
From my point of view, it's just plain ish.

"You might hurt someone," the others say.
I tell them "I know what you mean, but hey,
It's their life - what they do isn't my business
Their life won't be here much longer, because of success"

Lying to get your way does not make you exempt
From the free will of life and the variations of tempt
We all want different things in life
But lying does not make up for the crime

It's weird how people can just lie so easy
It makes me feel bad, for they can repent just as quick
Forgiven as soon as you ask, God does justice to enemies
But once you lie so much, your book gets thick.

Hmmm...I liked the last line...
"Your book gets thick".

The lies we tell ourselves can often lead to the confusion of the rest...
Good job here. ThisDiamond

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Errick, unfortunately there will be those who can't make promises which they don't keep and lies but yet there will also be others willing to tell the truth to any extent, sweet friend, this is a powerfully sincere debut, I love it, I too can't stand lying and is the last thing I'd ever want to do!!! Welcome to Passions, sweet Errick, may you be inspired by all of us here as we will all be inspired by your lovely words! I can't wait to read more of your lovely words, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Errick, thank you for sharing!

Love,
Noah Eaton

It's good to see acceptance at a board so quickly. Thank you all. I'll get some more up here, tomorrow. I like writing poetry, but I love writing songs. Is there, by any chance, a place where I could share my songwriting on this place?

Hi, the name's Errick. You'll be seeing me a lot.

I didn't want somebody cussin' me out for posting songs, but okay. I'll post one tomorrow. I'll have to decide which one that might be. *thinks real hard* Heh.

Thanks again for the warm welcome, it's something refreshing to see, no hostility here - Awesomeness.

Sing? Ha. I barely even ever sing in front of my girlfriend. But yea, I'll be posting'em later on. If I find someone who knows how to do all the technological shtuff that I don't know, well, they can record me singing the songs and stuff. I have some singing songs and I have some rap songs. I know, I know - but please don't discriminate. *holds up shield*

Hi, Errick....WELCOME. I'm new here, too (at posting...I've been reading poetry here for a while. I love this site, as I'm sure you will. I loved the words to your poem. I don't like lying either. I think honesty is so much better. I'm looking forward to your songs, too.

Welcome to Passions, MusicMan...it seems you have found the trick to this place...you come in, post, respond, respond, enjoy, respond, post some more...

isn't it fun?  We enjoy lyrics as much as anyone...we have some resident musicians who come in and find ways not only to post their lyrics, but every once in a while, poets like Ethome find a way to link their music, as well.  I'm sure we can find a way to accommodate you, as well!

Please, check your E-mail for a Special Greeting!

Thanks all who replied. It means a lot to me.

Sunshine - Yes I did find the trick. I only had to read the rules to know what to do here. I'm really glad that I can be myself here, and be accepted with no hassle.

For those looking forward to more, be prepared for today's posts.

That is why a Favorites list is essential on MSN. BSN is kinda getting to the point of blah.
