Born in your image, Lord.... Yet...each day, I look into my soul and.... I feel ever so small and unworthy of your image... For, Our Creator’s image is far more than this humble man’s can be.. Why Lord? Why this small, insignificant human should carry your image through a life of pain, humility....of sinfulness and shame... Of despair and desolation.... My worth, a mere grain of sand compared to your image... your gift to us, our world... Lord, the day I was born, breathed my first of many breaths.....such fear... Why would one bring a child into the world with the fear of being torn from it’s mother’s womb...into the stark reality of the world....crying... Screaming out....unable to speak one word.. If only I could have....have been able to speak. Lord, I would have asked of you... Why? Why was I born into this world... Naked, scared....in your image... To grow, to sin, to experience many countless failures.... Grasping a thin straw of faith.... When the only image of you I see.... is me.......... Why? |
