The Word of the Day

I see too much
of the lives around me,
having none, wishing for naught,
those days over, as one journey
begins its end.

I feel too much
of the regrets of yesterday,
having too many, knowing
more are to come,
as each new day arrives, and
creates a path for me.

I know too much, yet not enough,
still wearing the cloak of hurt,
sometimes of shame,
but mostly of a love
that seems to be going nowhere.

I take you off and drag you around,
the heaviness draining...

the roots of love feeling evil,
as my mind plays tricks on me,
fools me into believing
even though I see the storm clouds ahead,
drawing me towards them
needing the lightning to strike
so my eyes become alert,
needing the thunder to roll,
so I hear only the moments passing
of a life waiting for the calm,
hoping, for when
relief is the word of the day.

This one finds it easy to relate to lines within this piece...well done!

Maureen,
A good strong write, enjoyed. And the word for the day is peace.

Take a deep breath and feel the calm. This is well-written.

Virginia..I know some days are like that..it is drizzling here and kind of dark and we are expecting a thunderstorm. I actually love them...the electricity in the air  gives me energy. *s

C..it is just Me...feeling the day out, I am relieved many times during a day..I sigh alot, too...  sometimes too much making me dizzy. Just teasing, I am fine

Seymour, yes I think peace is a nice word for the day..and  it is so quiet here, I can hear my own heart beating.
Thanks and hugs

Good Morning Nan, thank you for stopping by. I still am working on the  FLA. poems but there was so much that went on..this is just an in between poem.
