Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan suggested yesterday that to spare the untold thousands (millions?)the ravages of war that Saddam Hussein and George Bush (not the 1st but the lessor) fight a personal duel.

why this very serious poem struck me funny is beyond my brain... but if you look at my poem "creepy" my mind must be out to lunch at the time being.. Good poem none the less

YES! And I laughed when I read the Iraqui VP's idea, as it is exactly what I suggested one time, and then had someone suggest that I was a lunatic.
(BTW, my nickname really was 'the loon' in the past, but that is another story)
Good poem, RS. I would love to see this duel, but I'm not telling who I'd bet on, and I wouldn't want a 'winner takes all' scenario either.

This is a well structured villanelle, Richard - with a well developed theme to boot... or not to boot... and to which shall we give the first proverbial boot? I like this, m'friend - You've created another good one for sure..
