She's a month and a half
How the days fly by
It seems like yesterday
I was pushing so hard I could die

When she first came out
They placed her on top of me
All purple, blue and bloody
Something shocking to see

She didn't look pretty
But she was a sight for sore eyes
She was my little baby
To raise 'til I die

No help he would give me
He wouldn't be here
He had a seperate life
To which he held dear

Our daughter to him means nothing
The other is his life
Our daughter will grow up with no father
To which will cause her no strife

She has me
A mother who cares
I'll watch her grow up
New things we will share

Her first time sitting up
Her first time she crawls
Her first time saying "hi"
The first time she stands and falls

Her first little steps
Her terrible twos
Where her favorite word will be "NO"
Then what am I to do?

The older she gets
The more trouble she'll be
More new experiences
And fun for me

She'll leave the nest
And leave me alone
She'll get married
And have children of her own

She'll bring my grandchildren by
And they'll spend the night
She'll always be close by
We'll always be tight

I'll be there for her 'til the end of time
In my heart she'll always be
I'll be there for her 'til I'm gone
Even then apart we'll never be

Hello and welcome to PIP Stephanie. I'm sorry to hear about your daughters father, but I'm sure you WILL make an excellent Mother. She is so very lucky to have you, and you her. Cherish all those wonderful moments, they really do fly by too fast. My littlest one is already 15 months old and he's growing like mad! Wishing you all the best. Kiss your little one for me.
Peace,love, and happiness
Tammy

Steph?
It'll no doubt be hard, but it sounds like your daughter will not suffer from lack of love.

Best of luck to ya.

Thank you to all of you, it is a great feeling being able to share my writing and feelings with all of you.

This is a poem I wrote some time ago.  My daughter is now    7 1/2 years old and the happiest little girl ever.  We've had it hard, but together we've made it.

Steph,
Babies...what a wonderful thing. Even if she's seven she's still your baby. I found that to be true even when mine was 28. I truly hope all your dreams come true. My mom was three when her step father showed up. Unexpected and a life long blessing.

It's fun to see how much you chersih her. May God bless you as her mother, always. Congratulations.

BTW, welcome to Passions. Canadians are some of our best poets and it's obvious you'll fit right in! Hope you love it here as much as I do.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Stephanie, as I was looking through the pages here, I ran across your poem. It is so beautiful and heartfelt. Your tenderness and love for your baby shines through like sunlight. I know in your comments that she's 7 1/2 but she's still your baby, and will forever be. She's very lucky to have a loving Mother like you. Thanks for sharing with us, and welcome to this wonderful "family of friends" that you have bcome a part of. Hope to read more of your work.

Love to all,
Ethel...garysgirl
