This is yours, as well

Lift your chin
To look at me
Into my eyes
My heart
My soul

And see there
All the chambers
Where you’ve left
Your traces

Your mirrored image
Shines
From behind my eyes

The vanilla
Of your breath
Co-mingles
With my own

Hear your piano
And violin
Live and pulse
Within my blood

See how your verse
(In your own hand)
Is scribed upon
My very being

Feel how your touch
Still lingers, warm
Upon my face

Taste the way
Fruit of your kisses
Is savored within

And know
That this,
Is where you are safe

That here,
Is where you are loved

That you are
home

~Ed

You write the words that complete unknown longing...EXACTLY. Saftey, trust, security--and? tenderness.

Yer a teddy bear.

WOW!  Goosebumps on me already, and so early!
This is SO beautiful..I simply love it...
for all my own personal reasons.

"You are home"---as I was reading along, I had that very feeling of being home---of being loved and cherished, safe and protected---but then reality sunk in! This was someone else you were writing about and now I'm feeling unloved and uncherished, unsafe and unprotected---at least by you, dear Wranx! tehe

This was poetically poignant and a very enjoyable experience, until that darn reality sunk in!

There's no place like home..there's no place like home...
Very nicely penned, a very comforting piece of poetry.

Whenever I read the word Shelter
I think of the Rolling Stones
and their song of apocalypse
and need clawing through the darkness.

This, however,
was something else entirely.
Soft,
real.
Full of hope
and care.
