During the smokey gray
of afternoon.
When shadow
upon african violet,
on high polished table of pine,
creates still life for me.
My fingers itch to paint
the softened sense
of growth.
Now displayed
in violet.

Oh, I love this poem, as much as I love African Violets. Through your words I could see the beautiful plant you portray in this poem, and I can see the beauty in the masterpieces being created as well. Thanks

I love flowers, almost as much as I love paintings.
I can see that flower on the table. I wish I could see the painting.
