The Cookie Jar

The words come forth like magic
From where don't always know
From pens and pencils worn and old
a flood of thoughts do grow

Some speak in deep esoteric terms
I admit not always understood
But I read on and try to learn
as much as anyone could

I pay attention with my heart
I sing along in ryhme
I dance in revel with the sounds
in awe of all I find

So many visions out there
So much talent floating by
So little time to catch the star
that leaves me far behind

If I could stop the world and time
extract from it one gift
I'd capture all lifes poetry
unread, unknown, adrift

I'd place it in a cookie jar
and plant it in your mind
then when you felt the need to touch
this cookie jar you'd find

What can I say?!? I love your refreshing way of viewing the world and your appreciation of it!

P.S. Make sure your poems go into that

Noah,

There are many cookies in this jar however, yours are the sweetist. Just ask anyone who reads your poems
Thank you.

SmartChick, Elizabeth,

Be prepared when you peek in this jar--for you will find yourselves within. Remember when you open it put back what you let out.

Others want to see!

Thank you

Bill, Magnus,
Surely, you recognize that this jar has much of your thoughts swirling round inside. You see this jar contains infinate space and the only way anything comes out is when an iris peeks inside..

Thanks for looking

SG,
My mom's cookie jar always had a bell in the lid. I like that I don't have to be so sneaky with your cookie jar. And by the way, excellent write. They're right it is smooth.
