CROSSWINDS

if,
when,
I come to you,
a single leaf
caught
in the crosswinds
will you know me?
will you see
that I too
am lost
in this house
with no rooms?
opening doors
to empty spaces,
ghosts haunting
all those
places
I nevermore
want to be
if,
when,
I come to you,
is it me
that you will see,
or will I be
a single leaf
touching your cheek
as we pass,
caught
in the crosswinds

Excellent poem, it felt like there was a cross wind as I read it, I felt a sadness coming through, yet there was also a realm of whispy wonder. Thanks

if,
when,
A cool breeze
or torrid gale?

My thanks to each of you for stepping into the breeze.

And, Mr. Wells, to reply to your question, though my knowledge of the intricacies of weather is somewhat limited, it is my understanding that when north and south meet, a storm develops.

beautifully woven, a sense of sadness in the weave

better than caught in the crosshairs, though
sorry, couldn't resist

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
