Urban

City of Angels
duck pond amidst turmoil
where the homeless sleep

morning paper
harbinger of good and ill
I’ve no time for it.

grey high rise shadows
dandelions thrive in cracks
no more garden here

rain slicked boulevard
life in neon jungle
colored potpourri

ten cell phones ringing
relaxing cup of latte’
at Starbucks Cafe

purple vinca blooms
nobody seems to care
a grid-locked freeway

wild horses roam
stampeding metal ponies
smoking along the way

life in a ghetto
blossoms of graffiti on
a fog-wrapped morning

Poetry is:
Passion, imagination and intellect running together.

Aloha with warmest regards, Cheryl Stewart Koomoa

Cher...Very nice...Paul
It brings to mind a Merle Haggard song " Big City Set Me Free"
Give me the good old country where song birds awaken you instead of horns and such.

Thanks for reading and comments.
I am glad I don't live in the big city.
I'd rahter hear the rooster crow and the doves coo...my AM wakeup call
smiles, Cher

I walked by StarBucks a few times back in
December,  when I was there...  AND...I
sat on that silly gridlocked H5?....

I agree.....the quiet mornings and the doves
cooing is much more enjoyable....

Nicely done Cher..

CSKpoet - I'm also glad I'm not in the concrete jungle. I love the mountains, desert, and calm of them...

(big hugggssssss) Oh Cheryl, I too can't stand the concrete jungle, sweet friend, I would rather live as Tarzan in a real jungle than walk down Broadway and see people pushing their clothes in their shopping carts and heat babies crying in a homeless mothers arms! (sad sigh) I too am one with the country, sweet friend, this is excellent, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Cheryl, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

hehehehe Thanks to all who hated my Urban..LOL..sarcastic write wasn't it?
and the idea of Noah as Tarzan just capped the total scene..

That was done way back in California, but as Magnus pointed out..Oahu has it's Urban...yuck...I'll continue to hide in the country...
hugs to all, Cher
