We each should choose our path in life,
To thine own self be true,
Don't sway from what you feel is right,
You know what's best for you.

For I'm a little drummer girl,
Just beating on my drum,
And marching to the tune I choose,
Until my days are done.

In your case, the best thing for everyone would be: To Thine Own Self be You!

James---

Aloha! I have always wanted to go to Hawaii. Recently a friend of mine took me to what he said was the next best thing---the Hawaiin Pavillion at an international fair! Now I've really got the bug. I bought myself a lei but the grass skirt I used to have was thrown out by my Mom because I made a mess of the house with the falling grass when I did the hula. Thanx for the reply!

Aloha!

Linda?
I don't know how you keep your openness and earnestness intact.

My own, has eroded over the years. Hard to recognize myself, sometimes.

Never lose this gift to yourself, you may never find it, again.

Ed---

You may feel as though your "openness and earnestness" have eroded, but these qualities still reside in you. Please read your reply once more. Those words come from an open and earnest man.

From time to time a veil falls and obscures our vision, closes our mind and chokes our heart. Love for yourself and love for others can lift that veil thus enabling your eyes to see, your mind to open and your heart to beat with the rhythm of your soul.

Anyone who can write like you---and I'm a big fan!---is blessed by God. Just banish that veil when it slips down. Don't let it hide that wonderful you that is you!

Take care fellow poet friend!

That's great! Let's form a band and everyone who would like to join in, feel free!

Here's to marching to the tune of our own drums!

BC--

Right on! Would you like to join the PIP band that I'm forming? The music may not be harmonically appealing, since everyone will be playing their own tune, but it's the spirit of the musicians that counts!
