Drape my windows with black curtains Hide the bright colors of fall I will wallow in my misery And get ready for my pall. Don’t let laughter stir my senses Hope and joy aren’t welcome here I’ll just sob into my kleenex And won’t touch a cup of cheer. Do not offer memory’s comfort Into darkness I must delve Don’t give sympathetic glances I’ll feel sorry for myself! Better days around the corner Are no help to me today I’ll allow no thought of logic As I whine and moan and bray Tiny germs have made me helpless And I do not get to roam All the fun’s over in Tampa And I’m left sitting at home! This is dedicated to all those I WOULD have met this weekend had circumstances been kinder... with apologies for both the poem and my attitude. *G* Okay, so it's not QUITE that bad... yet! LOL Of course, it's not time for my plane to leave for another few hours... and I already admit to an overdose of self-sympathy. *G* Have a wonderful time!!!! |

Yeah, but Sunshine... you hadn't had your airplane tickets for 3 months, your rental car paid for, your vacation approved, your stuff packed and your brass band waiting... only to have those plans cut off at the knees by your health taking a dive and your doctor shaking his head. *S* Believe me... it's different... I've missed other meetings, but in those cases, I'd known all along I wouldn't be there... this last minute news wasn't appreciated. *S* Enchantress: I'm sure there'll be another time... but that doesn't keep me from mourning this one. *S* M'toe: You're a dear... Suthern darling heart YOU have no idea how much I miss you. Krissy and Keth were dyingh to see Tampa airport again, they have told everyone that the 5 times they took us back to the carpark was simply that they kept getting lost. We know different. Keth was on first names terms with the man who kept checking the boot of the car, and as for Krissy I think she was getting ready to get an employee name tag. I am saying nothing at all on that scorem not a word will pass my lips. As always beloved heart you have written this beautifully, and the sadness simply drips through this and covers my soul. I'll feel you in every touch of breeze and hear your sweet voice in every echo that whispers in the night. LOL Elizabeth: You dear... thank you! *S* Now THAT's what I like.... someone who'll bring their own pillow to sob into. *G* I think we could create some great wails... and I've got the gnashing of teeth part down pat. LOL Ah, Mushy... You're gonna make me grin in spite of myself with that airport tale, aren't you? *G* I figured I might as well have a thorough wallow in self-pity before I got up and got on with it... now I just need to slap my face hard enough to pop the smiles back out. *S* I truly hope this weekend is fabulous for everyone... But if ya think about it....Just think about how badly you're feeling now...then...think about having to withstand Balladeer's presence for any length of time?...Now what's worse?...the flu, with bronchial pneumonia, coughing fits, headache, sneezing and no energy...or nausea?....Yassee...it's God, he's protecting you......I too wish I could have gone to Tampa...but then I'd have the terrible chore of hurting all those ladie's feelings by explaining to them why they can't come home with me, how sorry I am that I just can't support a harem at this time and gee....I just can't stand to break all those hearts.....and poor Balladeer and Sy would be in the corner, envious, feeling left out, sad and just talking amongst themselves....ya see...God's looking out for them too? He does work in mysterious ways doesn't he? |

LOL And you're right... the ladies WOULD have been brokenhearted that they couldn't be in your harem... if I hadn't broken their heads first with my baseball bat.
