I have come from foreign lands
To seal the circle, hold friends hands
Tired and weary still I come
To The Gathering in the sun

Many comrades bold and bright
Will be here this very night
Many more will never come
To this land held by the sun

Some are ailing some hold fear,
that disappointment will be here
But the circle will be done
As, we hold friendship in the sun

Remembering those who've gone before
To hold wide open poetry's door
Celebrating in the sun
We'll meet and speak and share some fun

Gathering, our hearts will hold
All those poets not so bold
Those who sit in dread of night
Will be held within our light

We lift you high and send our thoughts
To help you find the peace you've sought
The circle stretches  - we are one
In this land held by the sun

Feel our presence, know us near
From the chosen gathered here
We reach out to make us one
Here in this land held by the sun

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

How much I wish we could all be in the 'land of the sun' with you lovely poets. We are holding down the home front and thinking of all as you gather for frolic and fun.

Hugs, Marti

My gawd, Keth----Now I'm even more disappointed that I won't be attending "The Gathering in the sun"! I'd love to meet you and the rest of our circle of friends. Talk about a gathering of kindred spirits!

This was a wonderful poem and I'm sure it will be going into the library of each of the attendees!

Have a wonderful time! Give smiling hugs to
everyone and keep some for yourself!

You said it girl!!!!!

In this land held by the sun
We're going to have a lot of fun
Tomorrow we'll see the lot of them
And maybe, maybe I'll finally taste SPAM

My heart is breaking that the plane will be taking off without me this evening... I wanted so much to meet you all... and though I'm sure the doc knows best, I don't think I'll be able to follow his orders not to cry.

Maybe one day I'll be able to hug you with more than words... but until then, I'll continue to enjoy your wonderful poetry and gape in amazement as your talent continues to grow exponentially. *S*

soggy sobbing suthern hugs... Have a wonderful, wonderful time!!!

I WILL NOT be envious, with the help of the Lord.

Lovely, rhythmic piece capturing the joy you all are having in your 'gathering.'

For some reason, when I saw the title, I thought of a 'coven' and was so glad when I decided to read it anyway that it wasn't.

Enjoyable read, for sure!

Keth beloved heart oh holder of the sacred flame of friends delight, charmer of the stars and singer of moon's song, this as always is a weave of delight that slides over my soul with wonder. Being here, held in love and sun by the friends who surround us, we are blessed indeed.

Wonderful darling heart this is utterly wonderful
Love and warm stuff
as always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire

I sure wish I could have made it to sunny Florida to meet ya all...but I heard Balladeer sprayed for pests just before ya all got there, and, of course...that would be very detrimental to my well being...so, maybe next time....I hope you all have a wonderful time and please give a great big kiss to Balladeer for me......wait...that's a typo....a great big "kick" to Balladeer for me.....Staying fairly sober should be easy.....If Balladeer starts looking good to you ladies...it's time to get a designated driver!

And the Sun shall shine on you
through the mists to see the view
of all the goodness through poetry
found in linked hands by the sea...

and as you chat and talk in rhyme
keeping cadence, passing time
think of those who'd be with you
through the mists to see the view

by harbor light as night comes clear
find a star by which to steer
and on it post a rhyme or two
think of those who'd be with you...

What great rhymes! I'm coming-if I don't miss the plane. I'm all nerves already, couldn't sleep last night.

Kethry, I'm not even the least teeny weeny bit envious of your little "Gathering in the sun, even though you list all the poets I'm not going to meet, all the fun I'm not going to have, all the great things I'm not going to do. I am so very happy for all of you! (BOO HOO!)
Anyway, very nice poem, please keep us informed.
And a note to Titia, If I were you, I'd stick with srapple and not bother with spam.
Scrapple is much fresher - right off the hog.
if you know what I mean Just a suggestion
Have fun and don't stay in the sun too long! It's pouring here in Pa
Love to all

Have a wonderful time!

Toerag, you are an evil man!! You really know how to hurt a guy

Ms. Santos...you have always been a favorite of mine but don't go knocking SPAM!!! It is Mankind's greatest gift...

Keth, how very right you are.
Poets there from near and far..
Strangers just a year ago
Bonding in the afterglow
Of printed lines on pages blue
Forging friendships fresh and new.

Poets there from many lands
Reaching out and touching hands
Flesh and blood instead of screen
Faces that had gone unseen
Laughing, smiling, sharing joy
Moments nothing will destroy.

As we meet, we'll drink a toast
To Ron Carnell, our gracious host
And all the other poets who
Have shared their lives on pages blue.
How strange to have our destiny
Be so arranged by poetry!!
