Carve a place
mountainside,
high above clouds,
just below the sky.
At the juncture's edge
within a shadow's whim,
the lips of rock portend
hard rain comin' in.

Break the earth,
crumbling soft earth,
giving birth to sighs...
The fire raging just beyond
the edge of hill still dry,
a path for light to choke
in hot flowers of smoke.

Petals wilting soft pastels,
honeysuckle sipped so sweet
crushed by power of the heat.
Turned to cinders flying free.
Hard rain is comin'.
Hard rain is comin'.

Fill the drought, deep grey horizon
give your bounty
in harrowed cry

Clap the sky to fill down glasses,
glasses, glasses, glasses, glasses.
This fire burns the chaparel
and grasses, grasses, grasses.
Let the thunder tear the throat
of fire out, out.
Come down, rain and steam the valley
back to green and sprout.

Hurricane thoughts invade this trail.
Heavy cloud release your tears.
Calm the desert storm within,
cleanse our place in thunderous cheer.

Carve a place
mountainside,
high above clouds,
just below the sky.
At the juncture's edge
within a shadow's whim,
the lips of rock portend
hard rain comin' in.

You somehow manage to stay consistently good with all these written-together poems, guys. I could NEVER let someone feed off my mind so often. I's got tooooo many shields.

Then again, my brain's been going too dry for me recently. Grr. I HAVE picked up projects again, but I'm so busy on the visual, it's hard to create words without sight.

So instead, I'm figurin' out how to be every band memeber from my own fictitious band for the end of October, where we're obligated to wear Halloween costumes at work. (This is SO much cooler than graveyard shift at a donut shop!)

Thanks. Tier started in with mountains and I immediately subverted it to the massive brushfire in Southern California at the moment. It's hard to breathe!

Anyway ... thank you all. And Lori? EVERY member? THIS I gotta see!
