The Prophet

Today's prophet with words scrolling for him
Teleprompters blur in motion
Today's prophet is skilled at reading lines
Appears to stare with conviction

No one exclaimed the prophet was dead
When a child was killed this morning
For all of it news they probably heard
While dressing and hastening to work

Prophets are those not likely well loved
Who declare what’s wrong with our lives
Now, all we get are depressing newscasts
Geared to producing a profit

Where are the Prophets I read as a child
As angels are mixed among men
Where are the Prophets we’ll only ignore
Has God grown weary of pleading?

He's not likely grown weary... He's just letting us make our own mistakes... again..

Wise words here, walty - not so wayout.. Nice to see ya..

Wise words from an apparently, wise man.
This is the sort of poem that should be reposted periodically. The message is important and you conveyed that very well.

P.S.--I echo Nan's reply
