I know that laundry day has come,
When there's nothing clean to wear,
And my family starts complaining
That they're out of underwear.

I'm often told a load a day,
Is how it should be done,
But I can't seem to manage that
'Cause I'm always on the run!

And so the clothes just pile up,
Until I find the time,
And then I get the washday blues
As the loads add up to nine!

But when the clothes, are washed and dried
And I've put them all away,
I breathe a sigh of great relief
Until next laundry day!

Good morning Noah!

I love the scent of Downey softener on my clothes when I take them out of the dryer.

It is easier to stay on top of my laundry now that it's down to just me and one daughter living at home---and she does her own!

~ Have a great day! ~

(chuckling)..well you know... one a cool day or when it is raining outside..doing laundry isn't all that bad.... but it sure can pile up waiting for one of those days to come .....

cute poem...and one I think we all can relate to in some way.

Cpat--

Actually, on dull, rainy days, I feel sort of lazy and introspective. I enjoy reading and writing on days such as those. When the sun is up---so am I!--and I tend to get all the housework and laundry done with less effort. Thank you for your "cute" reply!

Oh how I giggled when I read this! With two boys into every sport of the season, I always had tons of laundry, especially  towels.

Thankfully, those days are gone now that it's just Hon and me.

I enjoyed this so much....Hugs, Marti

Good morning. Linda!!
I know this feeling all too well. Being a bachelor has as many cons as it does pros.
Oh well! I can't say that I've ever done NINE loads at once. SHEW!!!!
By the way, in regard to your reply on "To Begin, Again", it was fictitious. But your reply made me smile!!

Hugs 2 U!

Marti---

I can only imagine how much laundry you had with 2 boys in sports!

I enjoy writing poems on day to day life. They arent' very sophisticated, but they're fun to do!

Kris---

Glad to hear your poem "To Begin Again" was fictitious! I'd hate to see the bird of love with a broken wing! hehe

Something tells me that I should be very careful around that washing machine. I heard that it could be very discombobulating if I were to fall in! tehe

Linda - well, I guess we should count ourselves lucky that we don't have to still drag the laundry down to the closest stream and scrub them on rocks!!! lol. Enjoyed this write. Chris

Chris---

Oh, it was pure hades in my past lives when I had to do just that---scrub the body coverings on rocks in a stream. Things definitely are better in this lifetime. I guess I shouldn't complain!  hehehe

You know, I tend to put the laundry off too. But at least now, there is only one person I have to do laundry for.

Nothing dirty in this folder huh?
I love this little rhyme
of the ridding clothes of grime.

Okay, is this odd? I love doing laundry.

It is the only chore
that I adore.
I love the washing
and the drying
and the folding part, I do,
If I lived a little closer,
I'd do your laundry too.

Thank you!

Just thought I'd duck in and say,
"I hate laundry day". There, I said it.

My poor shack hasn't the room for washer/dryer,
so, it's off to the coin-op. Sheesh!

Good morning Ed!

---or are off doing your laundry?!?

Well, there's one good thing about a laundromat--it takes less of your precious time because you can do of all your laundry at once instead of just one load at a time!

Thanks for "ducking" in!

Earth Angel, boy can I relate!  I used to be that way, but old age has helped me do the wash more often.  Something different...I have to wait for a full load!  Loved this,  ME
