In nothing why is there something
If there is no hope why dream
If life has given up on us
Why do tears still flow?

Frustration is head banging
Going nowhere but backwards
In a forward direction
With open sides of doubt

When there should be no magic
The negative floods positive
Gravity loads you down
But the struggling heart still beats

So in every way you are destroyed
To a level of mental illness
Yet a flower blossoms
And the mind does the impossible

So the nightmare survives
To be rebuilt in our aspirations
To never give up breathing
With our emotions feeling heaven’s blessings

So in our strength of will, negativity
Will be reduced from torrential down pouring
To a gentle mist of soothing rainbows
Blossoming in such a positive way
That the gloom starts to shine from within

Okay...loved the poem...and you being spiritually inclined I have to wonder at the comparison. We always here of someone having NEGATIVE energy or POSITIVE vibes, etc. blah blah blah. Now, if I am to presume an old teacher of mine was correct, he said that energy is neither positive or negative, it simply IS. (He was teaching Qui Gong) and he went further to add that we should think of the body as a "battery"--and that energy simply becomes "blocked"--and the application of Qui Gong was to simply help enable the flow of such to once again circulate in the proper function. And yep? Your poem made me think of all that--so I thank you, and would love to hear your thoughts on that. (and nope, didn't forget about you, m'friend...I just get that way sometimes...sigh)

I know what you mean, lovely images and contrasts of sadness and hope, in every sadness there is a little ray of light.
