Bankrupt

You knew from the very start
My purse in pay would be my heart
And I spent it, a single day
A smitten lover in a way

You smiled at me a part flew out
You winked at me, another sprout
And then you asked to take my arm
And the purse went down in alarm.

You walked with me and talked with me
And said you thought allot of me
And the purse just fizzled flat
And that was the end of that.

Then you asked me for a kiss
My purse turned inside out from this
And I fell in love right then and there
Never a doubt of future fair

You filled my empty purse with thyme
And stopped awhile the sands of time.

"You filled my empty purse with thyme
And stopped awhile the sands of time."

Bet you didn't know I've still got one of your hugs tucked in my wallet Sy?

Loved this rhythmic and flowing piece.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

It’s always the same,
A pretty girl’s kiss makes a man feel young,
And can certainly turn a heart inside out.
But filling the void with love
Seems a nice way to refill it,
Like the way you did this analogy.

Sy, Good morning. What a brightener for a gloomy New England day. Smiles abound with this one dear man.

Hugs, Marti

"You knew from the very start
My purse in pay would be my heart!"

--Mr. T.---There is more gold in your heart, than there could be in any other man's purse!

~ May all the love that shines from your heart, be returned to you ten-fold! ~

JM,
So happy your having a good time. I know you will tell me all about it so I will be patient. Glad you had a chance to reply to this poem. Don't forget I'll be away the 28th, and 29th. WWRS

You made me think of properties
of healing and reciprocities
when you used the word of thyme
to help you with this lovely rhyme

so I turned a trick and found a cure
for in your words, I'm very sure,
that you know of medicinal lore
be they earthed, or upon a shore....

quote:
Thyme is well known throughout the world as a culinary spice. As a tea, tincture, extract, and oil, it has demonstrated medicinal properties. Primary among these properties is its effect on the gastrointestinal tract, where it is antispasmodic, carminative, and anthelmintic. Thyme is antispasmodic and expectorant in the respiratory system; it is beneficial in the treatment of bronchial coughs, laryngitis, and whooping cough. Like many other herbs with a high content of volatile oil, thyme has strong antibacterial properties. In addition, the herb has hypotensive (sedative) and cardiotonic characteristics. Thymol, a major constituent of thyme's volatile oil, is powerful, and should not be used internally unless directed by a physician.  http://www.springboard4health.com/notebook/herbs_thyme.html

Love can bankrupt us so easily... and the currency is far more valuable than pieces of paper with George's pic. *G* And yet, we don't even mind... until the day comes when we're left behind and nothing in our wallets can hope to fill the hole left in our heart. *S*

I like this melancholy work very much, Seymour. *S*

This is SAD...but I just realized something with a wry amusement--the only lover I ever regretted? Was the one that wouldn't go away!

Even I have to laugh, sy...

to you, and yes, a tip o the coffee mug--I'm running late again-- *pant*
