This is a picture of my back garden with my favourite statue

I came to bring you flowers
On this dark and cloudy day
I just needed to be near you
So for a while I thought I'd stay

I know you're only here in spirit
But I take comfort in this place
I try hard to control my tears
As they still stream down my face

I see you amongst the flowers
And above the trees you roam
I sometimes live in hope
That the angels will carry you home

I remember so much about you
Like your warm engaging smile
I hold tightly to these images
As I walk life's lonely mile

They say time is the greatest of healers
But no one informed my heart
Some days I feel so empty
Like I am almost breaking apart

I know you'd want me to be happy
You wouldn't like to see me cry
But my memories bring me comfort
They're all I have to get me by

* * *

I wrote this on Friday after visiting
my father's grave.

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

(big hugggssssss) Oh Sue, this is sad but so very beautiful, sweet friend, I hope this feeling doesn't apply to you now and now love has found a place in your garden to bloom forever under the happy sun! (kiss on cheek) Your garden is sooooooo beautiful, I love that cute angel statue too, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Sue, what a wonderful way to spend time with your Dad's spirit. A poem and flowers. I hope they both brought you some comfort.

Nancy, I'll meet you in Chicago and we'll fly to Melbourne together. Hope you like Earl Grey tea. It's our favorite.

Hugs, Marti

Hi Sue, it's nice to see a neighbour who writes pretty cool poetry ... and ... has a lemon tree in her back yard.

I guess one becomes content with one’s poetry when one opens the book ten years hence and does NOT exclaim, “Did I really write this?”

Hi, Sue. You made me cry, but that's okay. I feel the same way when I go to the cemetary to visit Daddy's grave.

Thank you all for the warmth and love I felt through your words.  You are all so very welcome to come and visit my garden anytime without invitation.  I take flowers to my father's grave regularly as I feel like I'm leaving a part of me there to keep him company.

Take care.....Sue

Sue:  A lovely poem and garden too!  It's always so special to spend time with you, while you remember your dad and what he meant to you.  I know so many people love you and your poetry and I hope you can feel some of that in the response you get to your postings.

I love your poem, and your garden is beautiful! I hope to have a garden as splendid is that one, just for the sake of being able to gaze upon it's sea of radiant colours and smile. I hope your heart's garden is as wonderful as the one I have the pleasure of looking at.

Thank you so much for your words which always bring me comfort as does the words from everyone here.  I feel so much warmth and such a strong connection every time I come here and it is people such as yourself that keep me coming back.

Stephanie
