Lost in a dream. (Please don't wake!)

That's Where I'd Be

Where would I be
If I had a chance?
I already know
In an instant I knew
It would be night
And I’d be sitting
On the edge of the woods
Perched on a rock
Dangling my feet
In the wondrous sea
Waves lapping gently
At tickles toes
And softly caressing
The sandy shore
Giving a drink
To thirsty roots
That’s where I’d be

Where the trees stand tall
Numerous and proud
Where the wind dances
Playfully through the woods
Darting branches
And rustling leaves
Cocooning my body
In a swirling blanket
Tossling my hair
And tugging my clothes
That’s where I’d be

Where the moon shines bright
And the stars watch over
Where if I could only stretch
Just a little bit more
I could touch the sky
And drown myself
In the endless darkness
Dotted by stars
Thousands of stars
Like someone had come along
Many years ago
And blown a handful of faery dust
Across the sky
It would take my breath away
That’s where I’d be

Where the only life
Is wild and untamed
Like my spirit
Like the true me
Where no man had been
No human had ever set foot
Except those like me
Human on the outside
But animal at heart
Where all creatures
But those known as man
Could live in harmony
Away from the hell
Humans know as life
That’s where I’d be

Where I could follow my heart
And never stop
Where every heartbeat
Was a rush of life
Where no one could stop me
From being me
Wild and untamed
Myself
Where I could let
The wind guide my steps
And let the stars
Be my eyes
Where I could let myself
Be alive
Finally
That’s where I’d be

Again...your work is so captivating, you have some beautiful descriptive verses here.
You've surely gained one admirer here.
On a funny note...this poem made me think of Pocahontas (did i spell that right?)

Thank you very much. This is my idea of heaven, I wrote after reading an article. It asked, if you could be anywhere, where would it be? I sat and immediately started writing. ;D
