Lost in a dream. (Please don't wake!)

Along The Easy Road

Life is a path,
The first couple miles,
Worn down by many feet.
But soon everyone leaves,
To create their own way through life

Sure, it’s hard to fight,
Through forests and marshes,
And overgrown undergrowth.
It’s hard to climb mountains,
And jump over rivers,
Raging below,
I know.

But would you rather stay,
On the easy road?
Wide and soft,
Under spoiled feet.
Endless terrain,
Boring and plain,
Easy, I guess,
But where’s the fun?

No rivers to jump,
No trees to climb.
And besides,
If one day,
You’re forced to walk the rougher way,
Would your pampered feet,
Unused to sticks and stones,
Bruises and bumps,
Cuts and aches ,
Survive?

The wild way may be harder,
But it toughens the feet.
And makes them stronger,
In the end.

Yes, it’s true,
If you fall into a river,
You’re gonna get wet.
And there are no rivers along the easy road,
Are there?

But water dries,
And leaves no harm.
And, if you continue,
You’ll find a little glade.
Sunlit and warm,
Peaceful and serene,
The perfect place,
For you to stay.

And, after sitting a while,
In this glorious place.
You’ll have to wonder,
Would you have found this spot,
This little patch of heaven,
Along the easy road?

Mountains may be tall,
And rivers deep.
And forests will leave scratches,
From hanging branches.
The wilderness is dangerous,
And always will be.

But,
When you come to the split in the road,
And you are not sure,
Where to go,
Stop for a moment and consider;

Will you ever find a clearing,
Surrounded by trees,
Absolutely beautiful,
And full of peace,
Along the easy road?

After reading this piece one has to wonder,
is there an easy road at all?

Welcome, welcome. ;D I wrote this for english. It was the lonest poem by, like, 30 lines. *sighs* But I quite liked it, as did my teacher.
