~The Darkness of Light~

Awash with light
neath dazzle of sunlit sky
drenched in blinding glare
harsh radiance overwhelms the sight

there are no shadings here
no measures of mellow
no in-betweens

in starkness, we see too much
heartbreak feels louder
and fear's scream grates raw

naked reality
exposes sinister mocking smiles

in light... there is darkness

clouds snug us tight
like a blanket of cuddle
in boundless comforting quilts
they soothe
the raging demons of anguish within

and raindrops wash clean
the grit of savage stabs of grief
in drear there is solace

in darkness...there is light
~

oh criminetly, MunkSter....you did it again!  Coated my throat with your poetic sandpaper, till it chokes me....sigh
I guess your poem made its mark on me.  Funny, Lyra, how today i was staring up at the grey sky, thinking about the dirty skies of winter, and yet, also, how bright the reflected light.
It's a dichotomy i don't understand in nature, but one i fully feel, in life.
My last post before shaking the rust from MY pillow now.  Please, always keep your spirits bright and fresh.

Some Hacker kicked my Zone-Alert in right during your response!  That's what you get when you get DSL, I guess.
My original reply said that you made my throat dry, once more, as i felt this poem deeply.  Today, as a fatter-of-mact, i was looking up at the grey rain skies and remembered the Winter skies that were alternately sad grey, and reflected white....an amazing dichotomy that i don't understand in Nature, but understand in man.

Keep your spirits bright, MunkSter, and with this, i am going to shake the rust from my pillow, and bid you:
~nighty night hugs~

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Lyra, this is so very true, sweet friend, I truly believe there is a contrast to everything, kind of like negative and positive values in picture prints, and while there is so much grief I felt as a little boy I now KNOW there comes light being a witness of loves power and I wish it all to come to those who need it most, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Lyra,
I'm glad you're back so soon.
This poem is a blizzard of ideas,
melting thought,
leaving puddles
of dreams.

Or something like that.

Lyra,
Each form has its negitive. You pointed it out very well. Each negitive has its positive
So we are back from where we started.
Your poem and pictures are a delight. Enjoyed

Lyra, this is stunning in both words and pictures. Thankfully there is light to help us find our way out of the darkness.

And dear friend, the light shines brightly on you.

Now that's just outstanding. The pictures were great, but the words painted a picture you can't get with a camera. Outstanding.

Yes, there is darkness in light, just as there is light in the dark. You always shine your special light on darkness.
Later, I'm out shopping for nuts, winter is coming.

The clarity of your words made me tingle...

I really don't know what to say...
do you realize how much light you shed, how bright your star is...how far you reach?

Can you possibly imagine??

I don't know how you do it, but I am so glad you do.  Love and hugs to you Lyra~

Thanks so much Jeff,  I guess you must get the same dirty winter skies in Indiana as we get here in Michigan...  But for some odd reason, I like the dark skies better...
Sorry I choked you, I sure hope you are okay again and that you've shaken that rust from your pillow...

Thanks so much, Noah... I completely understand what you mean...  Your life was so unhappy when you were young, but now... you are finally seeing the happy side of things...  I think that maybe thats why my life has had so many tragedies during the past few years...  I had a very happy childhood and this must be God's way of balancing things...  Everyone must have their time of happiness as well as their time of sadness...
