You are out in your garden
And you see something
No bigger than a bee
Hovering around

It goes from flower to flower
Getting what it needs
Then it flies off
And a few minutes later
Flies back again

Its wings flap
As fast as a bee
It is like a green color
This bird is so tiny
If you didn't look hard enough
You wouldn't know it was even around

Cold hands means a warm heart

That's definitely cool. Plus, it's the only bird that can fly backward.

What is life without poetry and adventure?

Julie, they are incredible little works of Mother Nature. I cannot tell you the joy I felt when I saw them this morning in my garden.

Interesting how we both wrote about them.

Hugs, Marti

A friend of mine has three hummingbird feeders around her deck and among her flowers. We sit and watch them as we wile away lovely summer afternoons chatting and sipping our tea.

I love hummingbirds, Julie...
They seem to be the topic of the day today, between you and Marti...
We have them here all of the time because they love our Fuschia plant and our double petunia...
They really are neat,  I just love to watch them...
Nice job
