What Light This Morning?

what might this morning bring
in pink and green array
in amber, yellow, orange
that sprinkle forth the day

the glint of sun that glances
about the stillness of the trees
like whispers in the mind
that stroke with gentle peace

far from awkward is the silence
that caresses heart and mind
soothes one’s very soul
facilitates one’s unwind

may it be so for you
oh, traveler of this realm
caught up in daily living
may the day not overwhelm

rather build a sense of awe
in the beauty one perceives
and strengthen living’s joy
in the truth that one believes

Beautifully done. Chris

thanks, Nightshade!

That is a stanza I worked on the most, revising, and massaging. Glad it worked!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

I love when the trees catch a glint of sun which shadows them with dimension...
This is so full of beautiful imagery....
excellent work, Virginia

Virginia, this whole piece is just brilliant and I love it. It has been printed out and going on my refrig door. It will help me remember the journey.

'... may it be so for you
oh, traveler of this realm
caught up in daily living
may the day not overwhelm ...'

Fabulous words...Marti

Every now and then take a good look at something not made
with hands -- a mountain, a star, the power of the ocean.
There will come to you wisdom,
