The Sky is Falling

Vinegar swells my tongue unkind
And the fires smoke, makes me blind.
And I feel my way through the day
And stumble over wits dismay.

I shout but no one hears my call
And many times I trip and fall
And when I stand and start again
I stand before a wall of when.

And I don’t know the when or where
It’s why I cry and why I dare.
It’s why I seek a path to find
To stop the swell and cure the blind

Some say they know the when and where.
Those prophecies that they declare
But I don’t need some fifty wives
For that I’d need some fifty lives.

I rather live my little rhyme
Within my Eden’s given time

this is superb Sy....(yanno, you have to quit writing all this deep wonderful poetry, all of us are running out of adjectives to compliment your great work....and fifty wives?...Good grief! Could ya imagine 50 wives, all with PMS at the same time?...and, if I had 50 wives with that problem, it would be "50 wives all on the "rag" at the same time...boy, I'd be "ragged" out quickly don't ya know....

Eden is where you make it,
and what you make of it...

if and when my old shall grow
will I have your wisdom's know?

God bless you Mr. T.---and I know He does!
This was a wonderful write. I enjoyed it immensely.

P.S. For three days prior to 9/11 I kept saying "The sky is falling. The sky is falling." It was the weirdest thing. My friends and family started calling me "Chicken Little". I also turned on CNN, instead of my usual Canada Am, each morning during those three days. I knew there was going to be something shown on CNN that was going to be of great import--and unfortunately I was right. I saw the second plane hit as it happened. I then realized why I kept saying the sky is falling and why I was to watch CNN those mornings. Tragic.

May your day be full of joy!

Seymour darling heart, see me trotting in here to drink deep from your cup of poetic wisdom, this is utterly utterly utterly perfect. I try not to miss you if I can possibly help it. Tomorrow though will be my last trip in here before I’m off to see you all. And it will be wonderful.

Drop silent thoughts into my mind
And take me to that place of find
Where release and discovery
Are waiting there to entice me
Where dreams are held in smiling eyes
A place where truth wears no disguise
Please take me to that place divine
Where time is held in a poet’s rhyme
In dreaming thought and silent sigh
Fly me to the place of why
Come into the deeps of my soul
Where truth is my heart’s only goal

I shall really miss you though, my day will seem a little empty without a Sy surprise served daily. You’ll have to bring me a whole week’s worth of the ones I’ve missed. And I’ll share them with all the others particularly Krissy and Keth who love your writing as much as I do

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire

Sir Sy....I like this poem and this piece of
it in particular...too true....

Some say they know the when and where.
Those prophecies that they declare
But I don’t need some fifty wives
For that I’d need some fifty lives.

My goodness this was not hard to take at all - the message went down really easy   Oh but I should know 1/2 someday.  Hugs you two wonderful people!
