Natural Phenomenon

The thunder rolls across the valley
heard is the approaching storm,
winds steadily picking up
the air is no longer warm.

Flashes seen from lightening
brilliant colors in the skies
trees now bowing to the winds
winds sing out their warning cries.

I see the ominous storm
lightening and thunder crashes
the air now slowly chilling
sending out angry lashes.

The storms once high raging winds
now slowly turns into calm,
and once again earth has viewed
a natural phenomenon.

Keen observation put into a well constructed piece

Interloper, I was watching a storm like this a few years ago and this was the resulting write.  I came upon this picture at webshots and remembered this was tucked away......so alas......here it is.  Thanks much!

Gentle Spirit~
I absolutely LOVE thunderstorms and I really
enjoyed reading this.
Of course, now you've reminded me of just how
much I want a storm NOW! LOL.
Thanks for sharing this, my friend.

Vicky,
if we were having a storm
I would send it your way
but alas......you see
the sun is shining today!!

Sometimes the storms are so very
beautiful even when ominous.  Thanks
poet friend!

Your words work well with the picture, my friend...
I love the storms...the only thing I don't like about them
is that they make me turn off my computer!

Had to do it again... smell the rain, feel the wind (cower from the lighting) and listen to the rumble...

(sigh) Oh Donna, this is sooooooo delightful, sweet friend, I love thunderstorms and the most blessing part of them all is the aftermath when God shines his lovely rainbow smile across the sky! (kiss on cheek) This is lovely, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Donna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

I love storms, the more ferocious, the better.  This reminded me of a few weeks ago when I was taking pictures of lightning from an approaching storm.  Know what?  Don't ever be that dumb.  LOL!  It struck so close I thought I was gonna jump right out of my skin.

I enjoyed this, Donna.  I especially like how you included the chilly air that a storm carries with it.     *hugs* my friend.
