On the Winding Path

In the greenness of September
On the brink of crimson red
There’s a leaf about to twirl
A spinning dance within my head

There are geese about to wander
Into unseen paths of space
There’s a candle that will light
The fearful eyes of pumpkin face

I imagine brilliant colors
Lighting up my hillside world
As the palette of surprises
Is so radiantly unfurled

Autumn breezes will grow colder
And the fireplace will light
Phantom briskness that comes creeping
Through the windows of the night

Little leaves will tiptoe past me
In a sprightly swirling wisp
On the path of silent ponder
Into steps of deep and crisp

There’s a leaf about to tumble
Twirling rings around my soul
For the dancing leaves of autumn
Are a season of the whole

In a pathway winding to belief
I honor autumn’s wayward leaf

Ohhh, yessss.  I love the imagery. Natural beauty never fails to put a private smile on my face, and an occational goose bump on my flesh.  Thanks for the stimulation.

Oh Liz, I just loved this. I found myself skipping along with the wind, crunching leaves under my feet.

Delightful, just pure delight!

How was your visit with Titia and Nan?

The leaves of life. Sometimes, you just have to rake them up, and then, jump in.

Thank you.

My goodness you are on a roll today, at this rate I will have to buy another big scrapbook to keep these wise words in.  Beautiful, and for what it's worth I would give anything to be there with you this Fall, I sure would.

The most valuable thing you own is a smile, wear it, and share it.

Oh, all of your comments are so delightful. In response, yes I had a wonderful time with Nan and Titia. Both are such a joy, and their visit meant so much to me , I can't possibly tell you, even though there were a few mishaps, locking keys in car, saved by a masculine angel from heaven, etc Titia got a good look at the beautiful countryside surrounding the town. I loved having them and hope they come again soon.
Thank you for your remarks
Liz
