In softened half light
I can trace
With finger or eye
The mounds and valleys
Of the landscape you offer
With out being blinded
By reflections
Far to intense for me
To fly close
In fear my wings of wax
Will melt and I find
The descent
Too far for survival

In Braille
The language of touch
Crackles soundlessly
As I try to comprehend
What burns in me
To be closer than here
Outside
The realm of you

Willow bent shadows
Curve gracefully
In my mind
Leaving a part uncovered
And a part
Behind

It's hard to describe the impact of this one. Suffice it to say, it's going straight into my library.
Beyond pretty.

(sigh) I too am speechless as I can't think of the wonderful words to express this wonderful poem, but this is excellent, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Ron

The things we long for are often the hardest to touch...and so we long for them more.  I know it is unwise to fly to close to such heat, for the burn might not be worth the melting.

"Willow bent shadows
Curve gracefully
In my mind
Leaving a part uncovered
And a part
Behind"

This last stanza could be a poem in itself.

I always enjoy your poetry.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH now THAT'S a love poem!!
Do you read Theodore Roethke??
Yer verses remind me of his poem ...what's the dratted name of it...the one where his lover is described in terms of geography..
oh well..all roethke is good
read him!
I love this one!
