This one was written on the final day of our tour, many highlights were experienced but one that is specifically mentioned is our visit to Plymouth, Massachusetts. Contemplating the difference in the motivation for being where we were compared to the Pilgrim's was stunning.

The Closing
Virginia Salter

Someone’s just pulling the sands through the hour glass
Spilling it on the beaches as we somewhat mournful pass.

Trees line the highway but in the breaks, we espy
A bit of water deep, deep blue as we go passing by.

Approaching Sandwich to sip a bit of youth
From the fountain that stands to shorten up our tooth.

Sunlight filters through the cumulus above
Brightening our final hours warming us with love.

Tired and a bit depressed as we come nearer to the end
Sadness builds within our hearts dreading that final bend.

But thankful for the memories and the treasures we carry out
And hopefully we’ll not spend our flights sitting in a pout.

Yet rather in reverie of friends we’ve made and sights we’ve seen,
Hopefully with photos, cryptic notes, they’ll remain quite keen.

Nearer to Plymouth, are we, to touch the rock of life
Marking the adventure met by those fleeing strife.

Needing freedom to worship their God and Lord of Love
Then kneeling in prayer, they raised their hands above.

So this is where we spend our last so our bonding can grow no more
As we traverse and have repast along this final shore.

Such a contrast are we from our forefathers that were here
Vacationing and touring rather than toiling and shedding many tears.

Now soon we go, they’d marvel so, to our flights in Boston town
For they were held fast as gravity kept them down.

So say, “Goodbye!” and safe please fly to your homes go neah and fah.
As the final leg of your journey’s made to your homes by bus or cah.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Indeed, we would be quite alien to our forefathers. Say, is that a Gucci bag?

Sorry VAS, just part of the point.

In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward".

A real joy.

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love
