Through the darkness you eavesdrop:
Pervading this purple heart rendered in the cold.
Calling from the chamber door of my asylum:
"Nevermore!" your ruffled voice quoth.

You brought me to the dark of night
on blackened wings of Raven's soar.
To sit before the candle's light
in search of this and Nevermore.

Whilst I sit here, alone, paying a ransom
To you, underneath a masque of red Death.
The ebony clock strikes twelve, eerie yet handsome,
I stupor, you reply through these frigid depths:

I am your raven, of darkened sheen.
I sit so quietly upon this fence.
I wait and watch, I tuck and preen
till morn is come, I know not whence.

So don't speak, don't breathe, just listen
To I, the messanger of the night.
Lend not half a mind to fear but half a mind to reason
I beseech you, kind sir, within the walls of your plight

Your words of drear and nightmare tale
that grasp one's soul in gloom of night.
In wait of my sharp tap to foretell
I have come to seek in raven's flight.

So now knowing I have not the soul
to kill this raven, I pause with your worship.
As the hearth slowly dies out in this winter cold
in delirium, incarceration, I know not, sitting here motionless.

Silent I sit in nightmare dark
in wait to tap and rap the door.
I call to you in silent hark
if but to say till Nevermore.

Miah,  I once said the same thing...with
patience, practice and digging into a few
books.....you can get where you want to be
as a poet...  above all,  stay here at PiP
and you will absorb much that you want to
learn...

Sue,  thank you dear friend....Noah does
very very well in the word department...
For his age,  he has the vocab. of a
Rhoades Scholar....  Impressive...

(big hugggssssss) Thank you both so much for your lovely comments, we had fun writing this as we both share a love of Edgar Allen Poe's work and many other poets in particular! God Bless You Both!

Barry, it is a pleasure to work with you again, I still remember our first duet too and I am blessed to have you as a friend and inspiration who speaks on so many levels of human emotions! You are a very talented part of this poetic family and like a second brother to us all! God Bless You and again, thank you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

The pairing of you two on a page
can only mean
the creation of Magnificant proportions
Noah-way it could be anything less than that. *smiling*

Nicely done by two expert composers!

Barry & Noah--- This collaboration is nothing short of AWESOME!!!

This is the stuff of which classic poetry is made---and it was even more special for me because it was written by two of my favorite people and poets at PIP!

Congratulations! I love it---TRULY!!!!

~ hugs and smiles across the miles to you both~
