Could this be the fairytale?

Some times while we are talking,
at times I think it seems,
our life’s a little bit unlike,
the life that we once dreamed.

And when we’re close together,
gazing into each other’s eyes.
Weseethe one we dearly love,
but this vision lacks surprise.

Then the warm embrace we need,
or someone on whom to lean,
is always sweet but nonetheless,
feels borderline routine.

Day by day we stumble on,
quite faithful to our duty.
So rarely do we stop to see,
our life for all its beauty.

Could this be the fairytale
of dreams embraced in youth?
The answer to this query dwells
within elusive truth.

A dream could not have shown me
a life as grand as this.
The years have passed and I'll admit
some days brought less than bliss.

But that moment your soul entered my life,
This heart felt love, It's true!
I could not have dreamed that my queen,
would be as beautiful as you.

And what of this glorious princess
born as heir to our throne?
Will she one-day dream fairytales
from this kingdom we call home?

I like the honesty and real-feel of your words. If she is lucky, your child will learn about love from her parents, and not the media.
Welcome to Passions. It's really an interesting second home.

             Tom

This is the best place on the internet to read, post, and improve on your poetry and we sure are glad you came.

This is not the ending of this fairytale I am sure and it sounds to me to be only the first chapter.  To celebrate a child with poetry is the greatest gift of all.  I have two books going for each grandchild and this looks like a great addition to a book for this child, great first posting

The most valuable thing you own is a smile, wear it, and share it.

Hi Tom, I had to come look you up after you replied to my own very first post. It was great to hear from another poetry virgin...so to speak. I loved this poem and it's one that I don't have a hard time reading...I'm gonna make sure and keep track of your others.
Cheers
Julie

Holy cow!  Was gone for two days and wow.  Thank you all for the great responce to this poem. It really was the first poem written since I was a child.  And from the heart yessss.  Troubled marriage at the time, but going strong.  I have a few more to post, and will try not to get a swollen head.

To kind To kind To kind

And Julie, I know what you mean about hard to read.  I feel I have a lot to learn after reading a few pages here.  So I wrote a no rhymer just to try it out.  Posted today.
