The woman shuffled down the street, lookin at the ground
She wore oversized shoes and worn out weathered clothes
She looked up at me, said hello honey
hopin I was a friendly giving soul
I gave her a ten and then a listen
I thought at the time she seemed so alone
and I looked at all she had, which made me so sad
then she forced a smile before she spoke

Chorus:
I don't worry when I got no money....oh no
Don't worry that I'm getting old
Cause I'm livin in the eyes of mercy
And son, you can't find a better place to go

I didn't have to say a word, she looked right through me
and I needed her grace more than I could say
My mind was clear and my heart was beating
I felt a weight had been taken away
I gave her a smile and then a good-bye
and said I'll see you again someday
Then I looked at all I had, which made me so glad
tommorrow would be a better day

Chorus:
I don't worry when I got no money....oh no
Don't worry that I'm getting old
Cause I'm livin in the eyes of mercy
And son, you can't find a better place to go

Eric,  this is beautiful and may we all have
this in our lives...that feeling is far more
important than all the riches of earth..

Thanx for this...

Eric, When I read this I started to cry and had to wait to respond cause I couldn't see clearly.

You are such a wonderful and thought-filled writer.

This is so beautiful -- Hugs, Marti

ethome - I like the song, I like it much... If I was closer we would have to get together and collaborate with some songs together....

...Living in the eyes of mercy...

Mercy.  Indeed.  You and Mysteria ought to get together and collaborate on a duet...I think all of Passions would benefit from such a work!  Well done, Sir!

I really appreciate all these comments...I know I don't deserve them because I've been so busy with this small contracting business I run and I haven't returned such kindness....It truly is so very kind of you all you're very good friends...Hopefully I will get around and return the favor soon!

Thanks again

Eric

Now this is a song to carry with us each day.  What a wonderful way to present one of life's most challenging "simple" things.  It seems we sometimes forget where true happiness lies in all the hustle and bustle and moments like this can ground us at the most measurable moment.  Excellent song my friend but then again........that is expected of you now isn't it.  Always a treat to read one of yours and even more of one when we get to listen.
