I've lived so many lives before,
For I've glimpsed them, time to time,
Images just racing past,
Not of my present mind.

Fragments of lost memories,
Of when I wasn't me,
Images of long ago,
The way things used to be.

I gaze in to the mirror,
When my mind is clear,
To bring me to the present,
When I myself, appear.

Oh, enchanted one---I knew you would have experienced this as well! I know I go out on a limb, when I speak of these things, so I appreciated your kind reply!

I was having a conversation with a poet here, about some of the "Old" souls that dwell in these blue pages. I think, you may own one.

~wranx

In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward".

Earth Angel - this brought back to me memories, as below. But I'm not sure if I would want things to be like they were...

Fragments of lost memories,
Of when I wasn't me,
Images of long ago,
The way things used to be.

BC---in a way, that's a good thing that you're not sure you'd like things to be the way they were!---That means that things must be better for you now!

----and as Martha Stewart would say, "And that's a good thing!

Barry---Actually, I do like being in the "now"---it's sort of a Zen thing---don't dwell on pains of the past and don't live in fear for the future. I am more of a "go with the flow sort of angel" tee-hee

Marti---you are simply a wonderfully giving and thoughtful person. Thank you for emailing that incredible photo that you thought would be a good backdrop for this poem---which it certainly would! Unfortunately I am pretty computer illiterate and wouldn't know how to do it. Besides, the photo is so beautiful, it should be graced with your words--not mine.

Very well written thoughts Earth Angel. Perhaps many of us in these blue pages have met before....other times .... other places. Perhaps that's why we all enjoy poetry so much - it's our soul connection. Chris

Good Morning, Marge!---Yep, sooner or later I thought you'd be checking this one out!
Your comments had me LOL! I have a feeling that in at least one of our past lives, we knew each other! I have a sense of reconnecting with several old friends (very old!-- tehe) since I became a member of PIP.

Very interesting write. I often wonder if past lives exist and if they are affecting my current travels on this plane.

Okay I do this too, and Mom told me I was losing my mind

Seriously, a very nice write.

I have been having trouble with this site of late and have not been able to get in to post more than one message at a time. I've missed being able to read all your beautiful poetry. It's slow going...

Parker---I know that reincarnation is real.
I had been told by 2 psychics in 2 different cities of one of my identities in  my past lives. Shortly thereafter, I met a man in one of my courses, and we recognized each other's soul immediately. The next day he phoned me and when we got together, we discovered that we had the same birthday. We also felt that we had been married in a past life and when he told me he knew which one, I was intrigued. So when we did our research in the history books on both of them ---you guessed it!---we had been husband and wife in the 1500's---and probably more---for we truly are soulmates and eternal friends. A wonderful feeling of coming home!

WhiteRose---As long as you come back to the
           present you, you're probably okay.
If you stayed in one of your past lives, that could pose a bit of a problem. Sort of a time-machine experience gone wrong! hehe

Sorry for your computer glitches. Maybe you need more RAM installed in your computer. Speed things up a bit.
