The Shores of Alone

This is strange but true..it has been around 95 degrees here for a week, and this morning (and still) the wind started howling, and it became quite cold. Coincidence?

A cold wind blows through town tonight
as though nature can feel our tears
it blows ferociously in gusts
in memory of pain last year.

So much has changed since that days fate
our hearts, our souls, our very thoughts
a devastation never known
a cruelty we've not yet forgot.

I cried that day for all we lost
again today the tears do fall
and while the wind howls of our loss
I only pray, God bless us all.

CatalinaMoon~
I 'know' just what you mean ...
Today, in my Florida neck of the wooods, we awoke to gray skies that never let a ray of sunshine come through~
There were a smattering of 'angel-tears' throughout the day ...

Then ... just before night fell ... a soft glow of crimson briefly touched the clouds ... promising a hopeful tomorrow~

Beautifully felt write dear lady~

A year ago, it was an ill wind that blew. Hopefully this one was friendlier.

Very nice, Sandra

It may have been a cold wind, Sandra... but hopefully, it isn't as evil...
A nice poem.

The winds of grief and sorrow always seem to blow cold...when I read this, I felt the chill.  Excellent descriptive thoughts, lil sis....

Sandra, this morning when I walked across the parking lot at work I felt this same wind, I had this same thought......and I wondered if it was just me.  We truly do have that simpatico thing going on.  You wrote this far better than I ever could have  and thank you for writing it....hugs and peace..

..."the wind howls of our loss"---so aptly put. Conveys so much.

A soulful piece of writing.

On the TV the commentators talked of the wind at Ground Zero and showed the dust blowing skyward.

I believe souls are still be taken to Heaven and evil is continually being blown away.

Thank you for noticing the Hand of God yesterday and writing about it.

Hugs, Marti

September's wind cries for its loss, and for ours.

Thank you.
