Second Chance

She's headed to New Orleans, on that late midnight train
Her heart filled with hope, she does her best to block out the pain
Her shackled heart but for a moment, felt slightly unchained
As she became one with that early September rain

Her soul was thirsty for love, she could feel it deep inside
Scared though to admit it, it was just easier to pretend and hide
At the same time she was seeking instant liberation, from pain she wanted to be free
So she continued on that train, prepared for what was meant to be

She doesn't know what to do, now that love is giving her a second chance
Should she throw caution to the wind and dance love's final dance?
Knowing there is no guarantees, there's no safety net
She slowly starts to take that first painfully hard step

She has to reach for the moment now, before it slips on by
Take it and fly
Train stops at the station, and she steps out with moon full and bright
Feeling her heart and soul warmed by loves light

She doesn't know what to do, now that love is giving her a second chance
Should she throw caution to the wind and dance love's final dance?
Knowing there is no gurantees, there's no safety net
She makes her first move, yes she takes that first step
