(Just some lonely thoughts of Joanna I had, missing her lately and wanting to have her so badly!)

Eve Swimming
By: Noah Eaton
9/9/02

"As kingfishers catch fire, dragonflies draw flame!"
Haunted remindings of a poet fill these skies tonight
Two-thousand miles away I wonder if you see the stars swimming
Like salmon fleets across a ravine of ice
If I could find an oasis in the heart of Polaris
I would drench these wings in cream and dance on your balustrade
Dance in your arms
While the moonlight permeates

Slow motion...
I feel your breath from miles away
Wallowing in these Poppies of July
Blood of angels tears waiting for the rain
Slow motion...
Christening with your tears
Where the God of Wine
Lathers the illusion of you as you appear...

"I know that's a secret, but it's whispered everywhere!"
Some wise poet encouraged me
What's the sound of one clapping, I dare not say
I still can't discern these secrets you privately speak
Because I'm glissading, flying just to hold you
Fighting the fire of the oracle
Wanting to hold you so badly, sweet Lady of Shalott,
where your breath is the sound of an oriole

Slow motion...
I feel your breath from miles away
Wallowing in these Poppies of July
Blood of angels tears waiting for the rain
Slow motion...
Christening with your tears
Where the God of Wine
Lathers the illusion of you as you appear...

Slow motion...
I feel your breath from miles away
Wallowing in these Poppies of July
Blood of angels tears waiting for the rain
Slow motion...
Christening with your tears
Where the God of Wine
Lathers the illusion of you as you appear...

                  Floating...

                        Lost in space...

                  Drifting...
         Fading...
                        Lost in space...

                  Floating...
         Camouflaged...
                        Lost in space...

                  Drifting...
         Fading...
                        Lost in space...

                  Floating...
         Camouflaged...
                        Lost in space...

                  Drifting...

I think you need a Joanna "fix."
She does inspire you, though, and that's good for us

I really like the repetition in this one, and the slow fade-out is superb. Well done. Hope things cheer up soon.

Noah...this is a beautiful expression of longing. You have such a command of the english language for one so young it often times lives me in utter awe. Here's hoping you and Joanna can be together soon
