What More

Though years may strip the beauty granted youth
And bridle raucous spirits long untamed,
They dull the rhinestone glimmer hiding truth
That love need never pass away unclaimed.
Often drained by unfair expectations
Is love that's never given air to breathe,
Freeing love of selfish complications
yields love that brings oft wounded hearts reprieve
What more should one man ask or dare expect,
Or hope of life or love than knowing you?
What more could one man need but your respect
And gaining that respect himself anew.

What more of love could one man dare desire,
Than tasting joys mere thoughts of you inspire.

There are many kinds of love, both aged and ageless. Enjoyed this poem much.

How beautifully written, with great tenderness. And we could all use more of this sofeness today.
