Falling Through Cracks

I fell through a crack of mental track
While searching for a fancies employ
And I tumbled and fell ass over back
Until I hung up on subtle annoy.

Stuck like a plum the end of a thumb
I hung and could not make sense of the place
But that was the outcome of drinking rum
And kicking the base of the case

I thought that I could find a field
A greener pasture of display
Where I could harvest up a yield
Of pleasures and pleasures array.

But all I found was the hot taste of spice
That swelled my tongue, fired my rind
And sounds that drummed just like rolled dice
That rattled the whole of my mind.

So watch were you walk those living cracks
It’s so easy to fall ass over back.

BRAVO!!! Yes, we always need to look ahead and watch our step as we may be stepping over greener pastures or slipping on cracks! (big hugggssssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

I am very careful not to step on any cracks---I wouldn't want to "break my mother's back"!
----that may sound weird to the rest of the world, but I'm sure another Canadian would get it!

Sounds like you had a bad experience!---but you expressed it with a delightful sense of humour!

Not sure what I'm doing up at this hour, let alone reading poetry but I saw the word rum and that was enough to warrant a response.  Quite an easy fall to make, as you have stated.  The recovery...not so fluid.

Seymour - a morning grin with this one, but also the grimace of how quickly one can slip through those cracks, and how difficult it is to squeeze back into the light. Well done dear poet. Chris

Seymour darling heart what is this doing so far down the list? Have the PiP’s people lost their taste? Or is it simply that there are too many poems and not enough time. Very likely because everyone knows you are a superb writer. Or if they don’t they really don’t have any taste. This is utterly utterly wonderful When I think you have reached the peak of your perfection you then write something that is so perfect and full of truth I find myself saying this is incredible. In this case I love the subtle interplay between verses as always darling heart your writing is tres tres bon. You of course know I adore this don’t you? Mmmmm I do!

Lots of good advise here my friend. And nothing worse than falling through the cracks of life.
