An awkward man, a man askew
The sort one might give no thought to
Chanced from park bench perch to view
Beauty, paused, while passing through

"Oh!" thought he, with smile sublime
"By graceful wit and grand design
I`ll charm this beauty, make her mine!
(could I but leave my bashful clime)".

As he pondered what to say
Mused on words to melt and sway
Another simply `seized the day'
-scooped Beauty up and flew away

His hopeful melody unsung
The man bereft, all drained and wrung
Turned squinting at the setting sun
To mask a tear of things undone.

Tis why we must always "sieze" the moment for just that quickly it is gone.

You so poignantly expressed how one should

"Carpe diem!"---Latin for "Seize the Day"

Ah, the dead poets would be so proud of this!

A truly touching poem with sage advice thrown in.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Very well done, indeed!
I love it
Strike while the iron is hot ... oh, wait, that's branding a cow ...

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
