Polaris stands in silent watch,
...over garden of the gods,
As Milky Way in endless bloom,
...light's welkin promenades,
I gaze above in wonderous awe,
...upon the night transcendent,
Past the realm of heaven's vault,
...past celestial gems quiescent,
Seeking wisdom from night's rhettor,
...I gaze aloft in silent ponder,
Beyond cruel bounds of earthen fetter,
...I'll search someday in endless wander.

Someday I'll sail the Southern Cross,
...across the universe,
In search of my forevermore,
...as heavens I traverse,
Orion's belt and Seven Sisters,
...I'll quickly leave behind,
Beyond the rim of nothingness,
...beyond the mortal mind,
Amid the splendors yet unfathomed,
...I'll sail beyond the sky,
But not today, I will sail not,
...It's not my day to die.

And we are thankful it is not...

I can't tell you how much I enjoy this poem.
Very nice,  love the universal trek you
showed us..

let me echo Magnus, if I may.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Indeed.. I don't know about a trek across the universe, but I did start with a cross-country jaunt this summer - That was enough for now..

And I've got more roads to travel as well, m'friend - I really enjoyed this one, Tim..

I absolutely love this! This is my world---well at least half of it! My New Age friends (whom I absolutely adore) gave me the name Earth Angel because my mind and spirit soar to the places whereof you speak---but my feet are firmly planted on the ground.

Hope to see more poems like this one!
