Lay wrapped in slumbered sheets of words
the phantom touch of feathered hands,
as whisperings of mocking-birds
like muses which no one commands.

They ply the senses with these tales
of fantasy and fabled lore,
to leave the wretched likes of me
to cry out to the skies for more!

Feigned Icarus has taken wing too close unto the sun and burned.
Uncertain of most everything save nothing of what I have learned.
In likeness I have built my craft and launched it born of true desire.
Quite likely tempting such a fate that shall become a funeral pyre.

Lay trapped in smouldering sheets of words
the embers of a foolish dream.
Remembered as just so much smoke the ashes of these words now seem.
Yet too they speak of one who rose again from where had been cast down,
and that is all I've got to say, 'cept "Thanks!" and I'll see you around!

The time flies when you're writing fun...
you've taught me so much...
and I'm still learning...
here's to another decade of friends...

Sunshine,
Thank you, and vice-versa. Far from being a "teacher", closer to being a perpetual student. I echo your sentiments and raise you
a lifetime.

Nightshade,
Thank you. In my own "smart-alecky" way I am often humbled by what I read here. This is the nature of this site. There are many , many, talented writers here. Together, under Ron's umbrella, we all benefit each other. That makes it real nice. Thanks again.

Noah,
Thanks. You're always an encouragement, as are so many others here. If things were different, I would spend more time reciprocating, but, at the present, time will just not allow it. My thanks to you and all of those here for your patience.
