I took a word and called her mine I took a verb and I ran I raped an adjective and sinned and swore I'd not do that again A simple sentence made complex by simple silly willingness language leathered loathing less... forgiving fortitude's forest-- I know this wood-- I've rested here. I felt this crook b'neath my cheek. I know this wood-- I'm not insane. Tell me that I live again. Tap me? I am maple-sweet... dripping sap of forestry. I weave leaves across my face-- I giggle-- whisper-- wondering? like a child with fingers splayed-- I pretend... pretend you stayed.
