Do You Relate, Of Late? (for the over 50 crowd)

these moments
of brainless state
cause pine for satiate
and often irritate
the heart and soul of me

a common word
of late
has letters
that surely aggravate
my ability to see

and cat who’s come to dine
three hours before past nine
I seek to draw the line
and put him out, does whine,
from just beyond the door

it is unnerving friend
I’m quite at my wit’s end
for things I’ve thought to do
I am already through
my brain’s a dinosaur

need I say more?

©September 7, 2002

My thinker done thunk its way into decay
what can I say, won't you pray?

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Virginia

I can relate...can't tell you how many times I've retraced my steps to find the important thing I was going to do.  Enjoyed this...if we can just remember to laugh..we'll be fine!

Yeah, Martie, like early on in my mourning days after my mother's passing I found ice cream 2 times in the microwave the next morning.

What I see happening more and more are things I go to do I've already done and things I've thought were done were not.

These particular thoughts have arisen because earlier this week, though a much better than average speller, I couldn't figure out how to spell stitch. I first spelled it 'stich' and thought, no it needs another t, so I tried sticth, which I could see was totally off the wall wrong, so I went back to stich. The next day I began kicking myself and mourning, even, because I know without a doubt it is spelled 'stitch.'

55 alive? You jive!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

You don't need any prayers, 'cause your "thinker" is quite healthy---and it's evident with this write!
P.S. If you want my prayers for anything else, just ask!

I love your wit in this piece, and man, can I ever identify with what you're saying!

Have a great day!
Linda
