I have read from
This text of masks
You wear to hide
The private places
Squirreled deep with
The hollows of your heart
And know you are but human
Though magic flashes
From your touch
And my heart no longer
Stays in rhythm
With my body
But beats instead with yours

Your walls must be high and long
To hang the varied hues
You don
then change
Each put in order
Each in proper place
Waiting for the next need

It is truthful to say
We all have our own
Texts to read from
Still I find it fey
Your light stays behind
Such primitive pretense

Strip off the masks…
And lie instead in my arms uncovered
As we read the text of souls

I do so love having my way.

smiling at you...these are  gorgeous, as I said in the CHALLENGE FORUM where, all interested poets should go to read all of the others you wrote there!

and? as always, you challenge me without even seeming to try? Now what am I gonna do? I've got a double challenge before me now...
oooh....love that!

and you are one of the most sensual writers....I type in sighs.

This is absolutely fantastic! I'll bet he'll be printing this one out and keeping it!

If he is anything like his writing, he is a very talented and multi-faceted individual.

BTW, this is an exquisitely well-written, caring, and insighful piece of writing.

Cpat,
I love what you've done with the place.

Not only did you rise and accept the challenge, you used the word "fey"...

and not everyone can do that!

You're amazing...

Cpat

I think we all have a mask or two...and the thought of stripping in this way, is the most vulnerable kind of intimacy.  Enjoyed this!

Welcome back Capt...always a pleasure when you dock in PIPs port and share your poetry.

In the space between now and then
I lost the fire, lost a friend
and Ill never be the same again
Still, I believe in the innocence
we gave away.

meeting the challenge, using 'fey' that's Ron for ya.

bump, for those who missed it the first time through, like I did

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
