"Deep in the heart of.....,
downsize to a county,
to five (occupied)
bedrooms and a pool,

Vous mentez
je souffre

detached garage, a dog,
and two cats. Shrink
to an apartment, a
parking lot,
one dead fish,

Vous cueillez
je decouvre

endless Sun, bleached
prairie. Deforest then
whittle down rights,
shave pride,
husk money,
dwindle time.

Vous punissez
j'espere

Seeming respite in
a tale of the Moon,
moistened patch, brown
eyes. Carve on
the heart.

Tu geles
j'eteins

Each door smaller,
shrivel to a corner,
morph aphasic.
Vengeful greedy eyes
mirror none cowered.

Tu prend
je pars

The cord of my bolas
tightened to
adequacy
for its heavy load.

j'ecrirai

Fin?
Translation;
You lie
I suffer

You gather
I unmask

You punish
I hope

You freeze
I extinguish

You take
I leave

I will write

very nicely done.... very nice indeed.

sometime it is in the writing that we are able to wrap some sanity around all that is in us....

I enjoyed

Very interesting, and deserving of another read. Chris

Richard

Could almost be two poems, the translation seemed so complete in itself.  Keep writing no matter your space!

J'espere que vous ecriverez encore!---What I hope I'm is that, "I hope you that you will write again!" The older I get, the less I remember of the French I learned in highschool!

I have to tell you, I truly was affected my this piece. I can identify with what you are talking about. You have expressed it so well, there's no need for me to!
