the hated buzzer hits 7
when the tired body
is dragged out

tongue whiplashed by
a rushed up coffee
with a body still wet
from a 5 minute shower

e x a s p e r a t e d   b r a i n
frying like an omelette
moving snail-pacedly through
the rush-hour traffic
and by sheer chance
the body makes it to work
at 5 minutes past 9
where stands a livid gentleman
staring at his wristwatch
“mind the time, son!”

(what’s all this for?

no time to stand still
no time for a calm breath
no time for a sunset
no time to see the sun rise
no time for time
no time …

where are the smiles vanishing?)

it occurs to me that its time
that we all got a vacation
from the dreary routine
else I fear turning anaemic

reaching work on auto-pilot mode
turning on the big machine
which cranks its ones and zeros
while I sip another mug of coffee
and the right hand expertly moves
dragging the pointer to
the program that also holds
the agenda of the day
lavishly splashed with meetings

(perhaps it is good for self-confidence
to know that you are invited
to many of these meetings
though they are inconsequential
like in a global peace(/war?) summit
where strong-willed people
get what they want
and the rest would go home:
satisfied that they were invited
with the summary note that
he who shouts loudest gets most)

evenings bring much the same --
rush-hour and anxiety niggles
and the livid gentleman
staring at his wristwatch
“leaving early mate?”

(except the vast question
of what is the dinner going to be
and where is it coming from
even that is eventually answered
and by midnight the tired flaccid body
retires, dreaming os sunny vacations
in faraway remote places,
where strangers live)

"but hey", asks the 7 headed serpent
"is that not what you are becoming
at familiar places of life and work?"

Your youth reads vividly in this piece,
Sudhir...
and I especially liked the bolding of anemic
as I know what it looks like in one and you
placed its meaning to dimetrically stand alone...well done!

Keep asking the questions, time/age will bring the answers....

and you shall wear wisdom better than you do, now.

BRAVO!!! Oh Sudhir, this is wonderful, sweet friend, sadly I feel work is cramping all our lives and drawing us away fromn the simple beauties of life, and it hurts too going in that automatic pilot mode as it is the same routine deceit and that sunrise is trapped behind blinds and cubicle walls! (sigh) I pray we can aim for a more peaceful setting in the future, sweet friend, this is marvelous, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sudhir, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

It is through living and learning, that we  gain insight---the answers then come filtering through. This was a very interesting read.

I love time ramblings, even when they take up more time than I really have available.
Time is of the essence...time is relative...time is a manmade concept the rest of the universe doesn't care about, unless we are speaking in eons.
I haven't got an eon, but I will always take time to read your words, and I do appreciate the times you've read and replied to mine.

Oh I like this!
Yes, least we forget that we all were created in the thrill of the hunt and gathering. The complacency of autopilot pales so to the forests and the sky.
