How I Dream of You
September 3, 2002
Copyright 2002 Doug Pretorius

To wherever you are I go by choicest dream
to depths of forest's glen, to heights of snowy skies
I follow your whisper there just steps after you leave
and into another journey I fly
Your smile's softest love
it's always just enough
to carry me by wings through fright
and on through all the nights
Is it as I'd believed
two warm shoulders on which to cry
washed over by autumn's breeze
no place for words or whys
Into this dream of you I lie
to drift to sleep in your eyes
no one will ever be more beautiful to me
so with you I share all that I can feel
