“HAVE YOU EVER”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
Have you ever sat there on a moonlit night,
wanting to hold her close, to hold her tight?
Have you ever looked into her soft eyes,
and thought your heart was butterflies?
Have you ever sat on the bank of a river,
touched her arm and felt yourself quiver?
Have you ever sat on the top of a mountain,
started kissing her and she had no objection?
Have you ever walked the beach together kicking sand,
saw the sparkle in her eyes when you held her hand?
Have you ever had a picnic in the serene meadow,
sat on a blanket with her and felt yourself glow?
Have you ever walked with her in a forest of trees,
watched as her hair gently flowed in the breeze?
Have you ever whispered into her ear sweet nothings,
and was gently surprised with the awakenings?
Amazing what a loving woman will capture,
when one does some of the above with her…
Have I ever read such great delight
as you've penned this starry night
and could my heart more fill with smile
than when I'm taken by your guile.
but soft, tis not the window breaking
nor yet the dawn of love's forsaking
could words of love lift me up high
and fill me with a heartfelt sigh.
Keth
Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
I guess some can, and some can't see it...nevertheless, this is a beautiful, thoughtful poem and I enjoyed every line!
Bill...
   I gotta ask THE question..
Are you in love ???
Is this where your inspiration comes from?
Ya gotta be, to know just what to do..
And if you are, she's lucky, and if you're not, then some one is gonna be lucky when you find the right one!
Each read gets better, and better !
Your poem is lovely. Must be really nice to be a partner of someone who thinks like you do.
Love and warm stuff
As always
Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire
If I were to replace the word "her" with "him" and "man" with "woman"----then I would have written the perfect love poem for me to give to a man! Simply scrumptious writing!
BC ~~ This is so beautiful and romantic.
And there you go again with that mountain of yours. Thank goodness you put in the beach and the meadow. Now I at least can look for the magic on level ground!!!
Hello Bill. I don't think I've read any of your poems before, but I had to pop in and tell you how much I love this one. Not everyone who falls in love, or is in love sees and feels things like you have described here. Your love is truly blessed to have you in her life. Big hugs!!
Peace,love,light and happiness
