The place my mind and soul
are now is blue. Behind the
shuttered lips, secreted in
the newly tinted, double pained,
hazel windows and ears like screened
eaves beyond the reach of mischief.
An enigmatic grin greets all assailants
who, curious what is inside here approach and gaze.

Apollo Loved too often,
lusted more and gave beyond
the necessary promise when spurned
(and why?) he had a vengence;
an oracle whose visions
would not be believed,
another whose wish to live
forever would not be accompanied
by eternal youth and so aged to a shrivel.

Nothing good has happened
to anyone who has hurt me.
While true it was not my wish.
So please back away from the blue fortess,
for inside here's a quiver
full of Eros' arrows
honed and sharpened heads
on rigid shafts, sporting
feathers of extinct birds,
a bow whose coiled strength
would shame steel
and a mere man who
like the god
never seemed to find the mark.

Leave buried all the blue
here in my veins.
Let not desire bring it to the air
red and hot.
It bleeds without restraint
while the target,
quite untouched
just turns and walks away.

Richard

"An enigmatic grin greets all assailants

Is it any wonder?...you harbor such chaos and color...and you write with passion's quill,.  I always enjoy a peek into the you you share...no assailant here.
